Malwarebytes not automatically updating

Recommended Posts

Hi,

For a while now I've been noticing that Malwarebytes scheduler for automatic updates doesn't seem to work for me.

It's set to run on reboot and hourly, however, it does neither. Even after waiting for 2 hours it doesn't update.

I proceeded to a clean install yesterday and it still hasn't fixed it, so I'm attaching the 3 logs.

Thanks.

Note : If I switch back to v 1.75 the automatic updates work fine without a problem.

Hello Alikhan:

The Addition.txt file from your requested 2nd diagnostic logs is incomplete. Please delete: C:\FRST, and all FRST related files from your desktop, then:

Please download only the latest and relevant Farbar Recovery Scan Tool from >>HERE<< and save it to your desktop only.

  • Double-click FRST(64).exe to run it.
  • Single left-click "Yes" at the bottom of Disclaimer of warranty box.
  • Do not alter any of the selected/unselected categories, in the lower half of FRST's window.
  • Only single left-click the Scan button and the tool will run at least 45 seconds or longer.
  • FRST will make a report log file (FRST.txt) to the desktop. Please attach it to your reply. Please do NOT Copy and Paste the contents of the report into your next post.
  • The first time FRST(64).exe is run, it also generates another report log (Addition.txt) to the desktop. Please attach that to your reply as well.

Thank you. :)

Hello Alikhan:

The replacement set of FRST logs is quite complete now & thank you.

We will request a Malwarebytes staffer further analyze your logs.

Thank you for your patience and understanding.

Hi, I have the opposite problem, I can't get it to stop auto updating. It's very annoying. I've uninstalled and reinstalled it twice. It's only started since this latest version.

I'm using the free version. Any help would be appreciated or I'm just going to have to quit using it and uninstall it permenantly, which is too bad, I'm a LOOOONNNGG time user of it and like it, but I don't like it doing it's own thing, I don't let any software run auto on my PC......yeah, I'm a PC control freak, but I haven't had any issues with my PC's for decades using that MO.

Thank you in advance

Hello Dad61 and :welcome:

We are disappointed to read your system is having issues. Each computer is unique. Problems that seem "the same" most often are not.

The same is true for solutions. They most often need to be individualized.

It is less confusing for everyone if we adhere to the "one user per topic" sub-forum policy.

Please start a NEW, SEPARATE topic using this >>cjfj.png<< button.

Staffers, experts and helpers will be able to more easily provide both you, and the OP/Topic Starter, with individualized assistance to get you both up and running.

Thank you always for your patience and understanding. :)
