winters Posted July 1, 2014 ID:847827 Share Posted July 1, 2014 Good Evening, Forgive me if this has been posted previously, but in Malwarebytes version 2.0.2.1012, why does the application not update the virus signature before doing the scan on startup? exile360 Posted July 2, 2014 ID:848199 Share Posted July 2, 2014 Normally the application doesn't scan on startup. Are you referring to a scheduled scan? If so, there is an option to have it update prior to running the scan. It's the checkbox circled in the below image: If that option is enabled for your scheduled scan, then the program will attempt to update malware signatures prior to performing the scan. I have no idea why I never saw the edit function for scheduled activities (and yes, I was referring to the scheduled scans). I have since corrected my issue and thank you for the input. Was the ability to right-click a file and then scan with Malwarebytes removed from the new version? I loved this convenient way to scan newly downloaded files - and one of added features that encouraged me to by the pro version way back when. Thanks in advance for your thoughts.
