Hello Cjz21j and :welcome:

For Malwarebytes Anti-Malware 2.x, please exclude the following files from your Anti-Virus software (we are unsure what version of you are using):

Note: If using a software firewall besides the built in Windows Firewall you will need to exclude them from it as well

For 32-bit (x86) versions of Windows XP, and above:

  • C:\Program Files\Malwarebytes Anti-Malware\mbam.exe
  • C:\Program Files\Malwarebytes Anti-Malware\mbamdor.exe
  • C:\Program Files\Malwarebytes Anti-Malware\mbampt.exe
  • C:\Program Files\Malwarebytes Anti-Malware\mbamservice.exe
  • C:\Program Files\Malwarebytes Anti-Malware\mbamscheduler.exe
For 64-bit versions of Windows Vista and above:
  • C:\Program Files (x86)\Malwarebytes Anti-Malware\mbam.exe
  • C:\Program Files (x86)\Malwarebytes Anti-Malware\mbamdor.exe
  • C:\Program Files (x86)\Malwarebytes Anti-Malware\mbampt.exe
  • C:\Program Files (x86)\Malwarebytes Anti-Malware\mbamservice.exe
  • C:\Program Files (x86)\Malwarebytes Anti-Malware\mbamscheduler.exe
Note: If using a software firewall besides the built in Windows Firewall you will need to exclude mbam.exe and mbamservice.exe from it as well

Note: Once that is done, please make sure that if either of those programs has any sort of web filter, that you add the following as a trusted site:

data-cdn.mbamupdates.com
Please let us know, in a reply to this thread, how it went.

Thank you. :)

Hello Cjz21j:

The exclusion entries sent to you are quite effective when significant system slowing is experienced as when two on-access scanners (Anti-Virus and Anti-Malware) could conflict while working simultaneously. Those exclusions are not always necessary.

I hope this has helped.

Thank you.
