Flux is a PUP?

Recommended Posts

I have Flux installed. Just now, MBAM started detecting Flux as a PUP (as "PUP.Optional.Flux.A"). As far as I know, Flux does nothing untoward, is not spyware, or anything else. Why would it be listed as a PUP?

Please reference: Please read before reporting a false positive

PUP - Potentially Unwanted Program.  A non-malware classification based upon how it is installed, a predisposition for automatic op-in and other characteristics not associated with malware to get a PUP.Optional declaration.

Funny no one chimed in when two of us reported issues with MBAM filling our event logs...

I'll just disable PUP detection. Thanks.

Hi hapless and thanks for the report.

Confirmed this is a F/p detection(s) and will be fixed on the next update cycle.

I have started to have the same problem with Flux when running a scan. I had to put 3 folders and 5 files, manually, for Flux, into the file exclusion. Which took sometime as I am not an expert with computers.Have these false positives been cleared? I do not want to remove them from exclusion and then have to put them back again, it took too long.

Thanks from a learner.
