dback03 Posted May 6, 2009 ID:78859 Share Posted May 6, 2009 Hello. Im sure I have an infection of some sort. The problem is I have no idea of what kind or what to do. I followed the tutorial posted above and ran a quick scan of my computer with malwarebytes' anti-malware. It was clean the 2nd time I ran it. I just ran HiJackthis and here are the results below. Any advice/instructions on what to do would be very much appreciated Thanks.Logfile of Trend Micro HijackThis v2.0.2Scan saved at 4:03:25 PM, on 5/6/2009Platform: Windows XP SP3 (WinNT 5.01.2600)MSIE: Internet Explorer v7.00 (7.00.6000.16827)Boot mode: NormalRunning processes:C:\WINDOWS\System32\smss.exeC:\WINDOWS\system32\winlogon.exeC:\WINDOWS\system32\services.exeC:\WINDOWS\system32\lsass.exeC:\WINDOWS\system32\svchost.exeC:\WINDOWS\System32\svchost.exeC:\WINDOWS\system32\LEXBCES.EXEC:\WINDOWS\system32\spoolsv.exeC:\WINDOWS\system32\LEXPPS.EXEC:\Program Files\Common Files\Apple\Mobile Device Support\bin\AppleMobileDeviceService.exeC:\PROGRA~1\AVG\AVG8\avgwdsvc.exeC:\Program Files\Bonjour\mDNSResponder.exeC:\Program Files\Java\jre6\bin\jqs.exeC:\WINDOWS\system32\svchost.exeC:\Program Files\Viewpoint\Common\ViewpointService.exeC:\PROGRA~1\AVG\AVG8\avgrsx.exeC:\PROGRA~1\AVG\AVG8\avgnsx.exeC:\Program Files\AlienGUIse\wbload.exeC:\WINDOWS\Explorer.EXEC:\Program Files\Analog Devices\Core\smax4pnp.exeC:\WINDOWS\system32\hkcmd.exeC:\Program Files\Java\jre6\bin\jusched.exeC:\Program Files\Intel\Modem Event Monitor\IntelMEM.exeC:\Program Files\Real\RealPlayer\RealPlay.exeC:\WINDOWS\system32\dla\tfswctrl.exeC:\Program Files\Common Files\InstallShield\UpdateService\issch.exeC:\Program Files\Dell\Media Experience\DMXLauncher.exeC:\Program Files\iTunes\iTunesHelper.exeC:\Program Files\DefenderPro\TSAntiSpy.exeC:\PROGRA~1\AVG\AVG8\avgtray.exeC:\Program Files\Defender Pro\Defender Pro Internet Security 6.0\avp.exeC:\Program Files\DellSupport\DSAgnt.exeC:\WINDOWS\system32\ctfmon.exeC:\Program Files\iPod\bin\iPodService.exeC:\WINDOWS\System32\svchost.exeC:\WINDOWS\system32\svchost.exeC:\Program Files\Defender Pro\Defender Pro Internet Security 6.0\avz.exeC:\Program Files\Defender Pro\Defender Pro Internet Security 6.0\avz.exeC:\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox\firefox.exeC:\Program Files\Trend Micro\HijackThis\HijackThis.exeR1 - Staff miekiemoes Posted May 7, 2009 Staff ID:79033 Share Posted May 7, 2009 Hi,First of all, I see your Proxy settings were altered by malware, so In IE: Tools Menu -> Internet Options -> Connections Tab ->Lan Settings > uncheck "use a proxy server" or reconfigure the Proxy server again in case you have set it previously. In Firefox in Tools Menu -> Options... -> Advanced Tab -> Network Tab -> "Settings" under Connection.I see you have Viewpoint installed...Viewpoint Manager is considered as foistware instead of malware since it is installed without users approval but doesn't spy or do anything "bad". This will change from what we know in 2006 read this article: http://www.clickz.com/news/article.php/3561546I suggest you remove the program now. Go to Start > Settings > Control Panel > Add/Remove Programs and remove the following programs if present.ViewpointViewpoint ManagerViewpoint Media PlayerI also see you have 2 Antivirus installed. Defender Pro and AVG, Never install more than one Antivirus and Firewall! Rather than giving you extra protection, it will decrease the reliability of it seriously! The reason for this is that if both products have their automatic (Real-Time) protection switched on, your system may lock up due to both software products attempting to access the same file at the same time. Also because more than one Antivirus and Firewall installed are not compatible with eachother, it can cause system performance problems and a serious system slowdown. So you have to make a decision here and keep the Antivirus you prefer and uninstall the other one. Then reboot after uninstalling. Then, * Please download Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware from Here or HereDouble Click mbam-setup.exe to install the application.Make sure a checkmark is placed next to Update Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware and Launch Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware, then click Finish. If an update is found, it will download and install the latest version. In case you already used MBAM previously, please update it before proceeding with the scan. To do this, click the "Update" tab and click the "Check For updates" button.Once the program has loaded and updates were downloaded, select "Perform Quick Scan", then click Scan. The scan may take some time to finish,so please be patient. When the scan is complete, click OK, then Show Results to view the results.Make sure that everything is checked, and click Remove Selected. When disinfection is completed, a log will open in Notepad and you may be prompted to Restart.(See Extra Note)The log is automatically saved by MBAM and can be viewed by clicking the Logs tab in MBAM.Copy&Paste the entire report in your next reply along with a fresh HijackThis log.Extra Note:If MBAM encounters a file that is difficult to remove, you will be presented with 1 of 2 prompts, click OK to either and let MBAM proceed with the disinfection process,if asked to restart the computer, please do so immediatly.
