"Malwarebytes encountered a problem" ?

Recommended Posts

Ok, so I don't really know what I should do at this point.

Ive had the paid version of Malwarebytes installed on my laptop for maybe a week and a half now. It was running perfectly up till maybe 3 or 4 days ago. Everytime I try to open the program, it pops up a message telling me that "Malwarebytes encountered a problem" Then asks If I'd like to send an error report or not.

I did some research online and apparently uninstalling the program and then reinstalling it is supposed to fix the problem.? Well I uninstalled Malwarebytes and downloaded it again, and proceeded to open the program.

Reinstalling it did nothing, it still pops up the exact same thing that it originally did.

I'm getting desperate to fix this asap because my computer is popping up with adware, it frequently shuts itself down, its changed settings. And it repeatedly pops up with things on my screen telling me that a program is installing, that I never authorized or even heard of before. it's also been opening up webpages in different tabs, that I didnt open.

My dad is pretty tech savvy and he attempted to fix it every way he could think of, but no luck.

Malwarebytes was amazing while it lasted, but now I don't know what to do... Does anybody know any way to fix my problem.?!

It sounds as if MBAM is crashing.

Please post back and let us know how it goes.

Hi, again:

I'm getting desperate to fix this asap because my computer is popping up with adware, it frequently shuts itself down, its changed settings. And it repeatedly pops up with things on my screen telling me that a program is installing, that I never authorized or even heard of before. it's also been opening up webpages in different tabs, that I didnt open.

I forgot to mention -- some types of malware/adware/junkware require the use of multiple tools for complete removal.
We can't work on that sort of issue here, in this sub-section of the forum.

So, if you are still experiencing infection symptoms, even after getting MBAM back up and running, then I would suggest that you please follow the advice in this pinned topic: Available Assistance For Possibly Infected Computers.
A malware analyst will guide you through the scanning and cleanup process.

Thanks,
