malwarebytes scans disables system restore

Recommended Posts

Hello and :welcome: :

Just checking: are you talking about Malwarebytes Anti-Malware, consumer product (aka "MBAM") on a home computer?

The reason I ask is that you have posted in the forum section to support a specialized Enterprise/Endpoint tool (Malwarebytes Anti-Malware Remediation Tool)?

If you are referring to the consumer MBAM product, the mod team will need to move this post to the MBAM support section >>HERE<<. :)

Having said that, I'm not sure why MBAM would be disabling your computer's system restore.
So, to start troubleshooting, please read the following and post back the 3 requested logs - Diagnostic Logs

Thanks,

The MBAM full scan disables the System Restore on my Window 7 home computer.

This deletes my restore points. After a period of time, restore is again enabled,

and new restore points  generated, but no previous dates.

Can this be prevented from happening?

Hi, cdurhamc: :)

Welcome back.
OOPS!
It looks as if you have already created a number (4) identical posts in various sections of the forum for the same issue?

Two of them were merged here: https://forums.malwarebytes.org/index.php?/topic/151413-malwarebytes-scans-disables-system-restore/
And 1 PW replied to another one of them here: https://forums.malwarebytes.org/index.php?/topic/151995-system-restore/
(I think that the moderator team will probably merge all of your posts into one thread here or will delete the duplicates, to minimize confusion for everyone. ;) )

Are you having trouble finding your posts - if so, do you need help with that?
Are you not getting an email to notify you when someone replies?

The behavior you describe is very unusual.
Can you please post a screen shot of the error you see, or at least the exact wording?

Also, it would help us to help you if we could find out a bit more about your system.

Please read the following and post back attached to your next reply the 3 requested logs - Diagnostic Logs

Thanks very much for your patience,
