Does MBAM Pro Work with New v6.x of CryptoPrevent ?

Recommended Posts

Hello thekochs:

Although I have been preview, alpha, beta and RTM testing MBAM coming up on five years, I have not read of any incompatibility issues with any versions of CryptoPrevent.

I have been running Kevin Berg's d7 with several of my systems and I believe a note to Kevin (the author of CryptoPrevent too) would be the most fruitful. FWIW, Kevin's d7 code makes a free version of MBAM 2.0.2.1012 download and subsequently version update with his d7 product for years.

Kevin can be reached through https://www.foolishit.com/

Disclaimer: I am a financial contributor to the early phases of d7.

EDIT: Instead of Kevin Berg's name, I should have entered Nick Shaw.

I have both running here.

The only issue I know of is that MBAM detects two registry modifications made by CP v6 as possible malware indications (by default, possibly more if you enable or add other filtering in CP).

They can easily be excluded from detection. See the link below, or follow the "Read Me" link in the CP main interface.

Thanks for being a contributor!  :)  But I'm Nick, not Kevin -- I believe Kevin Berg is the physically challenged tech that an article was written about on Technibble a year or two back.  Very inspiring article!  That's the only source I can think of where you would see the name mentioned with my software..
