GUI question.... WHERE DID THE SCAN OPTIONS GO?

When I click 'SCAN' it goes straight to a 'threat scan'.     

 

I used to be able to do a targeted scan and pick an entire hard drive to scan.

That's part of a custom scan.  The UI has changed in the new version.  Here's a help guide to get you started.  Click on SCAN in the left panel and you can read more about it.

Is35a -  I think you must be clicking on the big green "Scan Now" button on the front "Dashboard" screen 

- this does indeed start a Threat Scan. This is purely a shortcut to a commonly used option 

- there is also a shortcut the the Scheduler settings just below this option.

 

However the full menu is now behind the row of buttons across the top of the program window.

You have Dashboard, Scan, Settings and History - which give you access to all the program options 

- including the three different Scan types.
