I want to do a system restore but don't want to lose my license.

Recommended Posts

Hello everyone

I have encountered a problem with my computer which is unrelated to malware but think a restore will fix it (the gestures on my trackpad keep cutting out for windows 8)

However if I do a full system restore I will lose my malwarebytes license right? I have paid for the full version one time lifetime license.

How can I do a full system restore without losing my malwarebytes license.

Thank you

Hello kyle_govier and :welcome:

If you are performing a system restore from a recent full system back-up, where Malwarebytes Anti-Malware Pro or Premium was already installed and activated, you will not loose the activation's license ID and Key.

If however you are rebuilding the system without back-ups and having to use manufacturer's media, then you may re-activate the new install from the MBAM license ID and Key that was either emailed to you or was in the physically boxed container if purchased from a retailer.

Please let us know if this helped in a reply to this thread.

Thank you.

Thanks for the quick response. I have found 2 emails sent to me, one for each computer malwarebytes is installed on. I don't know which one is which but if it doesn't work I assume I can just try the other?

I will update this thread once I have chance to do the restore and try it out. Thank you again.
