Install / uninstall Malwarebytes silently - SCCM

Recommended Posts

Hello.

Im currently trying to find an easy way, to deploy and install Malwarebytes free from my Microsoft System Center Configuration 2012 R2 Server.

And yes i can install it by running: mbam-setup-2.0.2.1012.exe /silent /NORESTART

And i can also uninstall it using: mbam-clean-2.0.2.0.exe /SILENT /NORESTART

SCCM 2012 R2, works best with .msi files, so i wanted to know - can you download Malwarebytes Free as a .msi file?

This would also make the uninstallation of Malwarebytes easier, when a new major version comes - then i can just superseed the old update, and install the new.

I hope someone in here can help me with this, or might have another solution :)

That is correct there is no MSI installer for the Consumer version and to use the free product in a business is against the EULA (End User License Agreement) - All business use requires a paid business license for any type of use and the Business version does have an MSI installer.

Thank you.

Hello.

Im using this only for private purposes... I like to work with MS technologies, so i have my own Microsoft Setup at home - only for private purposes.

Now thats being said, does any of you know a way to install / uninstall MBAM Silently?

Currently, using the cl switches that you mentioned is the only way.  However, I do agree with you that this would be a good feature, either to have an MSI version deployable for home users who make use of these M$ technologies like you do, or else a more robust cl support that would include support for deployment through SCCM and other such methods.

It really is not practical for us to maintain such a build for home users. You're talking about a very niche user base here. I've personally only seen 2 other users using this product at home and both of them were pirating the software. Not saying that you are but if you can afford Microsoft System Center 2012 then surely you can afford a $40 business license for the product that does come with an .msi installer and Business level support.

I seriously doubt we will offer one for the free version. Possibly for the Consumer version but even that one is unlikely at this time.

Microsoft System Center 2012 is a bundled suite of systems management products that offers tools to monitor and automate virtualized environments, including private clouds based on Microsoft Hyper-V.

System Center 2012 R2 Standard Edition = $1,323
System Center 2012 R2 Datacenter Edition = $3,607

Clients also need licenses to use the Server ranging from $22 to $120 depending on license type.
