has my system been compromised?

Recommended Posts

Hello all, i'm new here and i really need your help, i'm in crysis..

Well, i'll explain:

I've downloaded  malwarebytes a week ago.

But, some days ago, while i was surfing on some images on google,  i opened one image and suddenly a malwarebytes' window popped up down-right my screen.

The windows disappeared quickly and i haven't been able to read, but i knew that malwarebytes blocked something.

I read on log-application that Malwarebytes detected and blocked a malicious website from that image (maybe?)

there are written, in 3 strips of the log,  something like 'detection, gaminglink . ru, chrome, Outbound, 56329..,IP...       (i  attach here 2 screenshots)

So, because it was the first time that it happened, i would like to ask you:  what's happened?

has my system been compromised, could something have entered my system, or malwarebytes blocked it? am/was i safe, and my passwords/wifi/files/system...  I'm Afraid of that..

Important: because i downloaded malwarebytes 1 week ago, i've activated since the installation the 'Trial Premium version', i think.

I've made a lot of complete scans with my antivirus (norton) and malwarebytes, immediately after that detection,  and nothing has been found.

sorry for my awful english, i'm italian,

Please, help me, these days i'm in fear...

Karma blesses you!

Hello and :welcome: :

Those IP blocks could indicate that MBAM is doing its job of blocking bad content on web sites.

However, if you are seeing a lot of these blocks, especially when there are no browsers open, it could be a sign of infection.

We cannot work on this sort of issue in this sub-section of the forum.

So, for expert assistance, I suggest that you please follow the advice in this pinned topic: Available Assistance For Possibly Infected Computers.
A malware analyst will guide you through checking and cleaning your system, if it is needed.

>>P.S. Your English is fine. :)

Thanks,

If it only happens when you surf, this may be the reason

Hello again! i'm very thankful to you two for your answers, and i'd like to explain that :

it happened just that time when i've surfed that image (google images)  from that site as i wrote above.  Malwarebytes' windows Never popped up blocking something in other situations, only in that case.

I've immediately later made complete scans and nothing has been found.

So, days later,  i opened google search and typed the name of the malicious site where that image came from (obviously WITHOUT Clicking anywhere) and actually norton antivirus marked that site with an 'unverified' mark.

But, my only fear is that something could have been entered in the system, when malwarebytes detects something, does it mean that the malicious site couldn't do anything? how can i be sure that i was been safe?

Thank you so much, Karma blesses you! :3

P.S. glad that my english is not bad xD

Hi:

As @pondus and I both explained, it could be that MBAM IP-blocking was doing its job of blocking bad content on websites. :)

But, my only fear is that something could have been entered in the system, when malwarebytes detects something, does it mean that the malicious site couldn't do anything? how can i be sure that i was been safe?

The only way to know for sure would be to have a malware expert assist you with running some additional scans and tools. :)
That work is conducted in a special area of the forum.
So, if you would like help, I suggest that you please follow the advice in this pinned topic: Available Assistance For Possibly Infected Computers.
A malware analyst will assist you with looking into your issue.

Thanks,
