Ianthe Posted June 12, 2014 ID:840628 Share Posted June 12, 2014 My computer was infected with something malicious last week . I cannot open any of my Microsoft Word files . This means I've potentially lost everything! Any help from anybody out there would be most welcome! Many thanks

Ianthe Posted June 12, 2014 Author ID:840638 Share Posted June 12, 2014 Thank you for replying. Have already done that (yesterday), wondered if I was on the wrong bit of the site as I've not received any replies yet! Am hopeful about file recovery, but of course am philosophical about possible losses! Many thanks!
daledoc1 Posted June 12, 2014 ID:840661 Share Posted June 12, 2014 Hi, lanthe: The malware removal section is quite busy. Most of the helpers are volunteers.Someone will assist you as soon as possible. In the interim, please do not "bump" or reply to that other topic until at least 48 hours have passed since you first posted it.Otherwise, it will appear to the helpers scanning the board for open topics that you are already being assisted. That could lead to further delay. Thanks for your patience,

CWB Posted June 17, 2014 ID:842592 Share Posted June 17, 2014 @jamesdannplease read and understand the rules of this forum ...we do not work on , nor proffer advice on "malware removal" in this section ...malware removal (et al) is performed in the area listed above and is done so by certified personnel .in addition , the original poster currently has an entry in the aforementioned area . also , posting a link to a "product" by a brand new member is not looked upon favorably .
