i have the same setup with ssd for windows booting only and the same issues you are having with malwarebytes. what you stated about windows being partitioned from users seem to have merit. my wife's pc with everything on one partition don't have this issue. to get malwarebytes to work on my pc, i have been exiting it through the notification panel and then reopening. then i try to run an update and scan. this seems to work the majority of the times. however, it is needed to be done after the error returns. this is usually after every boot. sometimes twice depending on the the length of time the pc is on. the last thing i have tried is to install malwarebytes directly on the D:\ during its setup. but i still got the error when i tried to scan the pc.
