Audio icon/buttons are not working on my laptop

Recommended Posts

Hi, I have a Compaq Presario laptop

There no audio/volume icon in the task bar

The buttons for adjusting or muting the audio manually do not light up when pressed

Windows Media Player and other media devices could not play any songs, but after checking the Audio codec something must have happened and now audio works ( it wasn't working before)

I suppose it's not as much as a problem anymore, but I wold like to know where my icon went

I greatly appreciate any help

Hi! In the Control Panel, In Sound, and Audio Devices icon -- click on that.. Under the Volume tab at the top. you should see a box that should have a checkmark. That says: Place Volume icon in the taskbar. Try looking at that. Hope this helps! regards, YB
