In what context ( what was going on) when your system got the Appcrash?

Did you reboot the system before jumping to the attempt for re-install?

Please only just attach the logs/reports.

I will need more information to try to see what is going on.

Please download the Farbar Recovery Scan Tool from here:

http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/download/farbar-recovery-scan-tool/dl/82/

save it to your desktop.

RIGHT-click on **FRST64.exe** and select Run as Administrator to start it and reply Yes to allow to run when prompted by Windows.

When the tool opens click Yes to disclaimer.
Press the Scan button.
It will make a log (**FRST.txt**) in the same directory the tool is run.

Please attach that log to your reply.
The first time the tool is run, it makes a second log (**Addition.txt**).
Please attach that to your reply as well

Greetings and thank you for your quick response.

In what context ( what was going on) when your system got the Appcrash?

Went to run a scan on a file and noticed that the program would not start

Did you reboot the system before jumping to the attempt for re-install?

Yes

Attaching the two log files

Thank you once more, I greatly appreciate it.

Ron

Save the attached file Fixlist.txt    to the same location where you have FRST.exe   ---- the Desktop

It needs to be saved Next to the "Farbar Recovery Scan Tool" (FRST) program (If asked to overwrite an existing one please allow)

Run FRST64 again but this time press the "Fix" button just once and wait.

When finished, it will make a log (fixlog.txt) next to FRST.
Please attach the Fixlog.txt  into a reply.

Step 2

First, ( but only if the program is running) lets shutdown the realtime Malwarebytes Anti-Malware. Go to the desktop Taskbar. See the blue-color MBAM icon in the notification area.
Do a Right-click on it with your mouse, and select EXIT.

{ If you do not have the realtime protection on, you can ignore the line above about the exit step.}

I have attached a zip file which you need to Save to your system.

Once saved, unzip it to extract all contents.   which will be 2 files.
Next, double-click on **net_replacement.bat** file.
It should run fairly quickly in a command-prompt window.

Once that is done, restart the Anti-Malware and let me know if it works normally.

Greetings Maurice,

I attach the fixlog.txt file generated following the above instructions.

I did run the bat file.

Attempted to start MBAM but it would not start up -- I had uninstalled my previous version before submitting this topic and the re-install received continued error messages.  Should I attempt to re-install MalwareBytes again?

Thank you very much
Ron

Greetings Maurice - thank you for your assistance.

I followed the above link and followed the instructions.  My program installed and the database was updated.  I have finished the fresh re-boot and am scanning now as the dashboard says the computer was never scanned which is how it should be.  I did notice that my ID and key were already in place and did not require me to input that data.

May I ask please, is this a new interface?  Looks very different to me.  But that might just be me  ;>)

Very much appreciate your time and effort - most excellent professional support.

I will return to this thread should I notice anything that should be reported as an FYI

All the best
Ron

Hi Ron,

Yes, Version 2 has a different GUI from what you were used to in version 1.

Please see  "What-does-Malwarebytes-Anti-Malware-2-0-mean-for-me"    https://helpdesk.malwarebytes.org/entries/45274777

We do have a online Knowledge Base that has several help articles & references.
You should also mark our web portal Help pages for future reference:

There is a online Help guide for Version 2 at this link

I am glad your installation is good.  Watch it over the next couple of days.   Let me know how it goes.

You may delete these
