Hi all, I just got back from vaca and powered on my PC. Malware bytes said it downloaded a new version and needed to install. OK no problem. Boom popup saying I need to log in as administrator (see image). So I closed it out and right-clicked and clicked on "Run as Administrator" and still the same issue. I'm running Windows 8.1 fully updated and my account is the only account on this PC. I've never had trouble installing an upgraded version in the past. Any ideas?

About the part in red:  When you closed MBAM, then where did you try to run the installer from to update?

Also, what happens when you you download MBAM from https://www.malwarebytes.org/ and run that installer?

Hi and thanks for the welcome and quick reply. When I closed it down I went into the tile interface to find the application the right-clicked and did run as admin and tried the update again. I haven't downloaded the installer myself, MBAM did it by itself and I'm not sure where it saved the installer to. I can only get to it from within MBAM.

OK, I was just checking.

You can definitely install the new version on top of itself by downloading it from the page I linked to.  Give that a go (and then maybe a reboot, even if you are not prompted to by MBAM) and it should take care of that popup so you won't get interrupted any more.

Alright I'll give that a go and see what happens. I'll report back. Thanks!
