alicez Posted June 8, 2014 ID:839302 Share Posted June 8, 2014 I notice that MB 2.0 has a fairly large database (definitions) update (almost) every day.Do these fairly large downloads reduce the size of the free space on my computer?
XpertAdvisor Posted June 9, 2014 ID:839366 Share Posted June 9, 2014 Hello Alicez, Please, questions about the Antivirus features, should be made to the AVG support team. I will answer you and the answer is No. The definitions files and also the updates to the software are not significant. Please don't worry about it, in spite of you will have more than one software updating files, because most of them replaced old files and the space used it's the same. daledoc1 Posted June 9, 2014 ID:839581 Share Posted June 9, 2014 Hi, alicez: AFAIK The definitions file is about 6 or 8 MB (give or take, as the size fluctuates a bit from day to day and after database optimization), and it is overwritten each time. So, no, it does not measurably reduce the size of the free space on your hard drive. And it is certainly smaller than the size of the definitions database for your antivirus. Thanks,P.S. If you could please use the button, instead of the button, it would be easier for everyone to follow the thread. Thanks!
