MBAM not working right

Hi,

for what it's worth I'm having exactly the same problem as outlined below. I have the paid for premium version and accepted an invite to upgrade the software. Since then I can't update it or run a scan without getting the message that Malware has stopped working.

 

I've done a clean uninstall using the mbam-clean-2.0.2.0.exe and have reinstalled with no success.

 

I've restored my vista machine to a restore point prior to this update and still no good.

 

I've disabled my firewall and anti virus software but still no good.

 

I'm running Windows Vista Home Premium SP2 32 bit.

 

Let me know if you need me to run diagnostics are anything else that might help.

 

In the meantime I've downloaded Emsisoft Emergency Kit and intend running this to see if there is malware that is causing this issue.

Sorry to hear you are having issues.
Each computer is unique.
Problems that sound "the same" most often are not.
The same is true for solutions.
They most often need to be individualized.

It is less confusing for everyone if we try to stick to "one user per topic".
Please start a NEW, SEPARATE topic using the cjfj.png button.
The staff and experts will be able to more easily provide both you and the OP with individual help to get you both up and running.

Hi, has there been any conclusion to this ? I've been following cgaf's case as it is word for word what I'm experiencing. I've been told to start a new topic and will if necessary but I will be re-hashing  all that's gone on so far already. In fact, as I'm typing this I've got the windows pop-up telling me MBAM has stopped working. The one difference I do see is that if I run all the versions of Chameleon one of them will succeed in getting an update and running a scan. However, once that's done I'll again get the annoying pop-up and of course presume I am not protected
