STEP 0
RKill is a program that was developed at BleepingComputer.com that attempts to terminate known malware processes
so that your normal security software can then run and clean your computer of infections.
When RKill runs it will kill malware processes and then removes incorrect executable associations and fixes policies
that stop us from using certain tools. When finished it will display a log file that shows the processes that were
terminated while the program was running.

As RKill only terminates a program's running process, and does not delete any files, after running it you should not reboot
your computer as any malware processes that are configured to start automatically will just be started again.
Instead, after running RKill you should immediately scan your computer using the requested scans I've included.

Please download Rkill by Grinler from one of the links below and save it to your desktop.

Link 2

  • On Windows XP double-click on the Rkill desktop icon to run the tool.
  • On Windows Vista/Windows 7 or 8, right-click on the Rkill desktop icon and select Run As Administrator
  • A black DOS box will briefly flash and then disappear. This is normal and indicates the tool ran successfully.
  • If not, delete the file, then download and use the one provided in Link 2.
  • If it does not work, repeat the process and attempt to use one of the remaining links until the tool runs.
  • If the tool does not run from any of the links provided, please let me know.
  • Do not reboot the computer, you will need to run the application again.

STEP 01
Backup the Registry:
Modifying the Registry can create unforeseen problems, so it always wise to create a backup before doing so.
  • Please download ERUNT from one of the following links: Link1 | Link2 | Link3
  • ERUNT (Emergency Recovery Utility NT) is a free program that allows you to keep a complete backup of your registry and restore it when needed.
  • Double click on erunt-setup.exe to Install ERUNT by following the prompts.
  • NOTE: Do not choose to allow ERUNT to add an Entry to the Startup folder. Click NO.
  • Start ERUNT either by double clicking on the desktop icon or choosing to start the program at the end of the setup process.
  • Choose a location for the backup.
    • Note: the default location is C:\Windows\ERDNT which is acceptable.

[*]Make sure that at least the first two check boxes are selected. [*]Click on OK [*]Then click on YES to create the folder. [*]Note: if it is necessary to restore the registry, open the backup folder and start ERDNT.exe

STEP 02
Please run a Threat Scan with MBAM.  If you're unable to run or complete the scan as shown below please see the following:  MBAM Clean Removal Process 2x
When reinstalling the program please try the latest version.

Right click and choose "Run as administrator" to open Malwarebytes Anti-Malware and from the Dashboard please Check for Updates by clicking the Update Now... link
Open up Malwarebytes > Settings > Detection and Protection > Enable Scan for rootkit and Under Non Malware Protection set both PUP and PUM to Treat detections as malware.
Click on the SCAN button and run a Threat Scan with Malwarebytes Anti-Malware by clicking the Scan Now>> button.
Once completed please click on the History > Application Logs and find your scan log and open it and then click on the "copy to clipboard" button and post back the results on your next reply.

STEP 03
Please download RogueKiller and save it to your desktop.

You can check here if you're not sure if your computer is 32-bit or 64-bit

  • RogueKiller 32-bit | RogueKiller 64-bit
  • Quit all running programs.
  • For Windows XP, double-click to start.
  • For Vista,Windows 7/8, Right-click on the program and select Run as Administrator to start and when prompted allow it to run.
  • Read and accept the EULA (End User Licene Agreement)
  • Click Scan to scan the system.
  • When the scan completes Close the program > Don't Fix anything!
  • Don't run any other options, they're not all bad!!
  • Post back the report which should be located on your desktop.

Please go to Control Panel, Add/Remove and uninstall ALL Adobe Flash versions.  Then go to Adobe.com and update your flash player but make sure you uncheck the "Offer" in the middle as that is just marketing junk their trying to foist off onto you. The latest version of Adobe Flash is: 14.0.0.125

Then either update Thunderbird or if you're not using it consider uninstalling it as older programs like that have an increased risk of allowing an infection due to older possibly compromised code.

Please try the following JavaRA version and let me know if that works better. Restart your computer first before running it.

Please download JavaRa-1.16 and save it to your computer.

  • JavaRa will open; click on Remove Older Versions to remove the older versions of Java installed on your computer.
  • Click Yes when prompted. When JavaRa is done, a notice will appear that a logfile has been produced. Click OK.
  • A logfile will pop up. Please save it to a convenient location and post it in your next reply.
  • Then RESTART THE COMPUTER

NEXT:
Please download the correct version of SystemLook for your computer and save it to your desktop.
You can check here if you're not sure if your computer is 32-bit or 64-bit

SystemLook 32-bit x86 | or | SystemLook 64-bit x64

There appears to be some type of wordwrap or EOL character coding going on as what you post in logs is not translated correctly and apparently what I sent you was not saved correctly as SystemLook says the format was wrong. Are you sure there were line breaks in what you put in SystemLook ?

Well the computer is experiencing various issues as indicated in the logs. We can try to repair it but you may possibly be better off reinstalling Windows or doing a Factory Restore.

Please let me know what you'd like to do at this point as much of these may just be damage from software conflicts or left over damage from an infection.
Please read the following topic for a bit more information.

Well, first let me thank you for taking the time and the effort to help resolve this issue.  Despite all of the system errors that are being reported, I see no interruption of service, slowdown or problems running the everyday softwares and processes.  This puzzles me.  I happened to see this body4u stuff by accident when I was unblocking something else withing Peer Block.  That is what led me to start this thread.  While my data is recoverable because I do regular image backups multiple times a week, the images are probably corrupted as well and certainly cannot be used to re-image the drive.  Therefore it will involve a re-install of the OS and a re-installation of every piece of software and subsequently the data to go along with the software.  This is a monumental task which I am not certain is worth the effort since normal operating is not being impeded.  Since we do not know for sure what the problem actually is (conflicting software errors or an infection), doing a full restore may be a lesson in futility since I may end up just creating the same conflicting errors again.  So the real question here is "what is "body4U.diy.myrice.com" ?  There is no information on an IP search, or an actual website. Is it malware, or the side effect of malware?  Or, is it the byproduct of conflicting software?  Until we get a clear answer, I can not be certain as to what the proper treatment should be.  At the moment, all we know is that the system is attempting to communicate with this URL, and one of the scans we did is showing the system has errors.  Not being a computer IT person, it is not clear enough for me to wrap my analytical mind around to make a prudent decision.  Your opinion is valuable to me so if you would be so kind. Thank you

No I don't think one should rebuild the computer over this body4u issue only that there are certainly broken services on the system and the Event Logs show that it cannot be running as well as it should be is all. We can also attempt to fix the broken services as well without rebuilding.

What application or operation shows you this entry: "body4U.diy.myrice.com"

The screen shot is not clear to me where or how you see it.

I am using Peer Block and that's where I am seeing it.  If you reference the first message in the thread you will see a screen image of Peer Block.  Here is an interesting tidbit.  I also am running a server here and it too is also seeing the same blockage on Peer Block.  It too is running Win7 64 bit.  I do not use the browser at all on the server so maybe this is related some how?

I would not worry about the other services.  Frankly, I don't know what they are supposed to do anyway; and not seeing anything with what I do on the machine does not appear to be an issue (yet).

But I would like your opinion on the fact that the other PC is showing the same blockade for body4u.diy.myrice.com

Thanks!

If different computers are seeing the same block and are on the same network then I'd say they either run some piece of software that is the same or perhaps the shared router has an entry. It's also possible that your DNS is not correct. Try doing a factory reset on your router. Shut down both computers for a few minutes then turn them back on and see if you're still getting the block or not.

It is part of the networking protocols

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Universal_Plug_and_Play

From what I can tell though this is just one of the many browser hijackers that are out there and resetting factory defaults on the browsers removes it. Just make sure you're not syncing your browser online in the Cloud as that will put it back.

Please try this again.
