Laptop turns off without warning during Malware Bytes scans

I have a laptop that was previously used by a coworker. The coworker was complaining that the laptop was slow and three days later it turns off without warning. no shutting down screens or anything...just shuts power. Whenever I run antivirus software or anti malware software it shuts off even in safe mode. DO you have any suggestion as to what could be causing that? I also tried replacing ram and that was not the issue either.

Sounds like the laptop is getting over heated or may have some hardware problems. Have you tried making sure that its free of dust especially where the ventilation ports are?
