Malwarebytes blocks an issue but doesnt remove it

Recommended Posts

I apologize if this topic is already answered in a previous discussion.  I did several searches but could never find an appropriate answer.

I have had McAfee installed on my PC for 2+ years.  I just recently started experiencing an issue where it sounded like TV stations were coming in over my speakers.  No matter what I did, I couldn't stop all the noise.  My PC provider recommended that I install Malwarebytes.  To my surprise, once I installed Malwarebytes the music stopped.  After further research, I started noticing that Malwarebytes was blocking a couple of processes.  (Document attached.)

My question is can Malwarebytes actually remove these threats?  I don't mind purchasing the "Premium" version but I would like to confirm why the malware does not get removed.  Is there a manual process I need to perform to remove the threat?  I was really impressed with Malwarebytes but I may continue to search for something that can actually delete the threat as well.  Any help/advice in removing this threat would be appreated.

Thanks,

Hello and post-32477-1261866970.gif

P2P/Piracy Warning:

If you're using Peer 2 Peer software such as uTorrent, BitTorrent or similar you must either fully uninstall them or completely disable them from running while being assisted here.

Failure to remove or disable such software will result in your topic being closed and no further assistance being provided.

If you have illegal/cracked software, cracks, keygens etc. on the system, please remove or uninstall them now and read the policy on Piracy.

What you describe initially may indicate a version of ZeroAccess infection is or was on your system, the images you attach indicate possible malware trying to make contact to similar possible malicious sites. The IP addess`s do indicate Iran as point of contact.

Malwarebytes is doing one of its jobs and blocking the outbound ping. There is a strong possibility there maybe a rootkit or similar still active... Run the following:

Download Farbar Recovery Scan Tool and save it to your desktop.

Note: You need to run the version compatible with your system (32 bit or 64 bit). If you are not sure which version applies to your system download both of them and try to run them. Only one of them will run on your system, that will be the right version.

Double-click to run it. When the tool opens click Yes to disclaimer.
Press Scan button.
It will make a log (FRST.txt) in the same directory the tool is run. Please copy and paste it to your reply.
The first time the tool is run, it makes also another log (Addition.txt). Please attach it to your reply.
