But I *am* logged in as administrator!

Recommended Posts

I am now seeing a "Your program is out of date" message and despite being logged in as an administrator (double-checked), every time I click "Install Now" I get a popup with the following:

Please log in as an administrator to install the new version of Malwarebytes Anti-Malware.

There is only one account with administrator rights (mine) and that is the account I am using to attempt to install.  I am running Windows7 Professional, Service Pack 1.

Hello and :welcome::

There have been a few reports of this recently -- it might relate to the system's UAC settings.

A clean upgrade has fixed the issue for many users.

So, let's try this:

After upgrading, please be sure your AV and firewall give the new MBAM version full permissions -- let us know if you need help with that.

Thank You,

I'm having the same problem.  I have Windows 8 and the free version of MalwareBytes.  Will the same link you've provided below be the recommended update after I uninstall what I have now?

Thanks kindly.
