New Version...

Recommended Posts

Hello

Got a notice about the new version ready to install on my desktop, everything went fine so I went to do the version update on my laptop and no go.

No notice of any new version and when I check for updates nothing there either.

I'm really getting tired of having to uninstall this thing and reinstall the new version all the time because of some "glitch"...

Any ideas before I go through this again, and yes I did a clean install before.

Thanks

Hi:

I'm not sure I understand what you mean by "no go"?

The upgrade is being released to a portion of users at a time.

So, it may not be available via the auto-updater on all of your computers at the same time.

If you want to download the installer now, without waiting for the internal auto-updater, you can get it here.
If you want to clean upgrade to the most current build, the steps are here: MBAM Clean Removal Process 2.x

Any ideas about what?

Can you please tell us what sort of problem you are having?

Thank you,

Okay how was I suppose to know that the update was only going out to a "portion" of users. Are they still having that many issues with it that they can't roll it out all at once?

Hi:

Watching the news/announcements sections of the forum is a good way to keep up.

NOTE: Malwarebytes Anti-Malware 2.0.2.1012 was released today - 05/20/2014. The full changelog can be viewed here

You can download the installer from this page: Malwarebytes Anti-Malware or if you already have the program installed it should start to roll out to users over the next few days via the internal updater.

https://forums.malwarebytes.org/index.php?showtopic=149022#entry832508

There are also: a blog and an electronic newsletter and social media. :)

AFAIK Throttling of updates always has been the norm in the software industry -- from MS updates to Mozilla Firefox to Security applications to pretty much any product. Heck, Kaspersky Lab throttles worldwide release of a major new version over several MONTHS.

There are many reasons for it -- server load, bug monitoring, etc.

I cannot speak for the MBAM product team or the company in terms of their update release schedule.

I am just a home user and forum volunteer -- I am only trying to help.

I am sorry if the information was not satisfactory.

Thank you.
