I use my laptop for a lot of presentations. I don't have ANY icons on my desktop, especially not my anti-virus or malware potection. Frankly, there is ALWAYS somebody who runs up and tells me what's wrong with it, their experience, whatever. It's a distraction. I do not want to remove the program, just the stupid icon from a Windows 8.1 machine. It's in the public\desktop folder but requires admin privileges to get rid of it. Of course I am an admin. I've also tried the "built in" admin account. I've run as an admin. Just won't go away. Yes, I know to right click, delete. Doesn't work.

Anybody know the secret to getting rid of this stupid thing?
