New Paid Version Shuts Down and Generates Major Error

The new MBAM starts but when I try to update definitions or run a scan an error message pops up that says "The exception unknown software exception (0x40000015) occurred in the application at location 0x6640d6fd. Click x to close the program.  Sometimes it has the location as 0x6976d6fd.  The whole program then closes.  I just paid for the year for the premium version, filed a support ticket, and they said they are really busy and flooded with user issues.  Can anyone help?
