After much consideration, I've made the decision to buy my first ever malware/virus protection to protect my precious PC and that's MBAM. Here's some questions on this particular product as shown in the link above.

1. Does this product come with a separate piece of document with an activation code for MBAM Pro/Premium? I'm planning to install this software on my Surface Pro 2 which unfortunately does not have an optical disk drive.

2. Does the activation code (lifetime, non-expiring) in this particular product work on any installer including the newest version, 2.0.1 as provided by the website, http://www.malwarebytes.org/downloads/ , or is it compulsory to use the installer on the said product's disc?

I hope I'm posting on the correct forum board. And please advise if any of you have any knowledge that I should have known before I proceed to purchasing this product. Thank you.

I also would like to ask about the same questions above to this product in the link below. Btw, are these lifetime MBAM legit? I thought MBAM has changed its lifetime model to a subscription based model? Need some clarifications on this matter. Thank you.

Hello and :welcome:

Answer to question 1: The software you buy for the sites you mentioned will be boxed sets that will come with a CD and an activation code on a sticker or piece of paper included in the box. Being that you do not have a CD drive, no worries, you can just download the latest version from Malwarebytes and install it, yes version 2.0.1 will work with the one you buy.

Answer to question 2: Already partly answered in 1 above, yes its a lifetime license good for only one computer. There are still some licenses out there for a lifetime but once those get all sold out you will no longer be able to by lifetime licenses, so get them while they're HOT!

Thank you for the prompt reply. I'm planning to invest in a few more of these lifetime licenses for my family, future friends and future PCs. Can these lifetime activation codes remain usable even after 5-10 years staying in their retail packaging (yes, I'm not kidding) and is there any expire date for these codes if they remain unused?

Are these licences transferable as well, I mean can I transfer the license from the old computer to a new computer, where only the new computer can use the MBAM premium and the old computer can't? Is there a particular time limit or number of usage you can do the transfer of license to a new computer for MBAM premium?

Barring some unforeseen issue no the license will not expire even if not used for a long time.  Yes you can always transfer from an old computer to a new one as long as you're not actively using it on more than one computer as the lifetime license only applies to 1 computer per license.
