Recommended Posts

i downloaded and installed version 2 but had a loading problem afterwards (running windows7) finally did a restore now can't repair the version 2 install can't over-write over the failed install

{Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware 1.x is currently installed and could not be uninstalled properly. Please uninstall Malwarebytes Anti-Malware1.x manually, reboot, and then try the installation again}

I cannot manually uninstall the program through control panel as I get this message.

{ Messages file "C:\Program Files (x86)\Malewarebytes' Anti-Malware\unis000.msg" is missing. Please  correct the problem or obtain a new copy of the program.}

Any steps to help a novice level operator to get by this mobious type loop would be appreciated

Thanks

Hello and welcome, cdngmt:

Sorry you are having trouble uninstalling/upgrading.

Using system restore can sometimes "break" things for security programs, including MBAM.

Let's start with the MBAM removal tool for the uninstall; please follow the directions exactly as shown here:
MBAM Clean Removal Process 2x

If that does not correct it, then please read the following and post back the requested logs, as attachments to your next reply:
Diagnostic Logs

Thanks,
