MB2.0 upgrade requires administrator rights when I am running as administrator

Hi all,

 

I'm running a Win8.1 64-bit system and MB2.0 upgrade has popped up, but when clicked on, it pops up an error messages stating I must be an administrator to run.  My user account has administrator properties.  Is there a way around this?  Thanks in advance.

Do you have Self Protection module enabled under Advanced Settings? If you do, you need to disable that in order to do the update.

Enable self-protection module is unchecked.

[AdvancedSetup]

Please using "My Computer" and browse to the following location

 

C:\ProgramData\Malwarebytes\Malwarebytes Anti-Malware\

 

You should see an installer called:  mbam-setup.exe

 

Right click over that file and choose "Run as administrator" and see if that allows the installer to run properly for you.
