While searching online to get back here I clicked on a bad search link. The link took me , unknowingly to "repairstreet.com" The "tech person there pretends to be malwarebytes staff! I got out Fast when they asked to take control of my computer for no good reason. I was looking for records regarding my product key.

Just one more caution about keeping sharply aware when clicking on links! Eyes wide open and read the address!

I know I was dozing; when I opened that link  I know I was stupid but we all slip at times.

Hello and :welcome: :

Wow!

Scary.

We'll need to wait for staff to research that bad link.

Thanks for reporting it.

As for your license ID/key.

If you purchased MBAM PRO directly from MBAM online, that info would be in an email sent at the time of the transaction by the MBAM e-commerce partner, cleverbridge.

If you don't have that email and didn't print out the info, you can contact cleverbridge and they will assist you with looking it up.

Here is their contact info: How do I obtain my license key?

If you purchased MBAM PRO as a standalone, boxed CD, the license ID/key will be in the box, either on the sleeve or on a card.

Having said all that, if you are planning to upgrade from 1.xx to 2.00, your license info ought to be retained, if you upgrade to 2.00 on top of your existing 1.75.

Of course, it's a good idea to have the license ID/key on file, in case you ever need to do a clean reinstall or transfer the license to a new computer.

HTH,

Post PS: I had read somewhere here about trying to retrieve my key code and the search term were something to that effect. I was trying to get back to that specific page about Malewarebyres key retrieval. (In case this is a help with  researching that link) I wrote the cleverbridge@cleverbridge.com and the email bounced back as not being deliverable.

Hi, again: :)

Did you see the link in my earlier reply? :)
Here is their contact info: How do I obtain my license key?

cs@cleverbridge.com appears to be the correct email address.
They also have a web form on their PURCHASE LOOKUP PAGE - use the form there if you know the email address under which the purchase was made.
If you don't remember the email address under which the purchase was made, other ways to contact them, including telephone, to look up the ID/key are here: main customer support page.
If you are in Canada, I would probably use the U.S. contacts, as that is the closest.

Please let us know how it goes,

I should have also mentioned that this link was in the line-up from a Google search.

unfortunately , this is an all too common occurrence .

those listings at the top of the page (and off to the right) tend to be "sponsored links" .

(one can see an obvious difference in them from the main body of listings)

not all of these are "user friendly" nor exactly what one was looking for in the first place .

if one googles (say) "adobe reader" at the top of the first page will be some listings and close examination will show that the site and link allude to being "adobe" but they are not .

this is one reason i use "traffic light" and "wot" in conjunction with the "site blocker" in ESET (my AV/firewall) and malwarebytes ... i have ample visual clues/warnings if not outright "ya don't wanna do this and we aint gonna let ya" .

Too add on to that, an adblocker like adblock plus, would stop some if not all of those ads, from showing up.
