Shell extension scan in MBAM 2.0 question

Recommended Posts

I'm running MBAM 2.0 (free edition) on a Windows XP Home Edition (SP3) system.  With MBAM 1.75, when I would right-click on a folder and scan it with MBAM, it would start, scan some system stuff, then scan the folder and report its findings.  With version 2.0, when I right-click on a folder and scan it with MBAM, MBAM starts and doesn't start scanning immediately. I must use the "Custom scan" function to scan the folder in question.

Is this by design, with MBAM 2.0?

Thanks!

tomdkat are us still with us, and did the clean re-install fix your issue?

Sorry for the delay but I've been busy and haven't had time to uninstall and re-install.  The shell extension scan I just ran has finished so I'll try this now and will report my findings.

Thanks!

Ok, I used the mbam-clean utility to fully remove MBAM. I rebooted and reinstalled MBAM 2.00.0.1000.  The installation went flawlessly and I updated the database.  I enabled the "Explorer context menu" scan option and was able to scan the folder, as desired.

Problem solved.

Thanks!

Peace...
