MbM 2.0 Blue screen

Recommended Posts

Hi,

Since I installed MBM 2.0, when I select scan now, in the last two steps of the scan (can't remember wich one), my computer gets a blue screen with the following error:

0x1E_c0000005_R_nt!KiFatalExceptionHandler

My pc has Windows 8.1 with Kaspersky internet security 2014(f) installed.

I've updated MBM to version 2.0 in the same day that KIS 2014 updated from (e) to (f), because of that I can't tell if the version before 2.0 worked with the KIS 2014 (f), but worked well with (e).

In security mode the scan runs without issues.

I'm using MBM free, to complement KIS to scan usb and to do monthly scans.

There is any known issue between the new MBM version and the latest version of KIS 2014?

Thanks

Hello and :welcome:

Sorry that you're having issues. Let's get some logs so we can see what's going on. I have not heard of any specific conflicts between KIS and MBAM, however you could always enter exceptions in your KIS for MBAM to be sure.

Please download Farbar Recovery Scan Tool and save it to your desktop.

Note: You need to run the version compatible with your system.

You can check here if you're not sure if your computer is 32-bit or 64-bit

  • Double-click to run it. When the tool opens click Yes to disclaimer.
  • Press Scan button.
  • It will make a log (FRST.txt) in the same directory the tool is run. Please copy and paste it to your reply.
  • The first time the tool is run, it also makes another log (Addition.txt). Please copy and paste it to your reply as well.
Then run the this one too

Please create an mbam-check log:

  • Download mbam-check.exe from here and save it to your desktop
  • Double-click on mbam-check.exe to run it, it should then open a log file
  • Please do not copy and paste the entire contents of the log into your next post, instead please attach the log CheckResults.txt file which should now be located on your desktop to your next post
Thanks

Hi,

Already posted the full memory dump file.

Today I uninstalled the MBAM 2.0 and installed again the 1.75 version, this version works without issue.

To create the full memory dump file, I removed 1.75 and installed the 2.0 again, and I saw that the BSOD appears in the heuristic Analysis.

Thanks once again.

Is I that have to thank you, Jekko.

I hope those files, the knowledge of where it crashes and that the version before this works ok, can help you find what's causing this situation with the MBAM 2.0.

For now i'll go back to the 1.75 version that works flawlessly.

Thanks
