No more mbam.exe /update in v2?

Recommended Posts

Hello.

Before v2, I used to be able to run mbam.exe /update to get the latest definitions ONLY without launching its GUI. This was useful so I could scan when right clicking on files and folders in Windows Explorer. Now, I have to run MBAM's GUI and then its update. :(

Did this updater feature get moved or was it removed?

Thank you in advance. :)

Hello Ant Dude:

Although no command line features are presently available in version 2.00, this is one of many developer priorities for a future version.

HTH :)

Argh. I wished I knew that in advanced before upgrading. It looks like I need to downgrade since I found other bigger problems ( will post in a new thread soon) too.

You can use this command to run the update:

"C:\Program Files (x86)\Malwarebytes Anti-Malware\mbam.exe" /runupdate

Still looking for a way to run a scan that works in V2.

That still has to launch MBAM GUI though. Also, I did not see it update from yesterday's updates. I had to manually click on the update GUI's button. :/

There is no command line support of any kind in version 2.0 - as said we are working on putting command line back into the product in a future update.

I will go ahead and close this topic now as the question has been answered.   Please continue to work on your open malware removal forum topic
