Hey Guys!

As soon as I heard about MBAM 2.0 I couldn't wait to rush home and install it!

I managed to initially get it installed perfectly, and updated it. Once I ran my first scan, it came back all happy. I went to run a second scan to look at the memory usage in real time to see what happened and then my pc completely died. Flickering screens followed by myself hitting the reset button.

Upon startup I could no longer launch MBAM at all. The windows error logs were filled with APPCRASH logs:

I tried an uninstall and a reinstall but I was presented with a runtime error upon reinstall. I did some googling and found out I needed to delete all the mbam stuff in program files, program data then ran a registry cleaner for the rest.

Rebooted, reinstalled and all was working.

I updated and ran a scan again, all came back fine, ran a second scan to check memory usage and the same thing happened again and now MBAM wont even launch.

Not sure what is going on here, but I could use some help.

Regards,
Kyle.

I tried this and the same thing happened. The second time I try to scan, it comes up with "you are running low on memory" and then crashes my entire computer, even though I have 16gb of ram and it was only just using 5gb all up during the scan.

However, this time upon reboot, mbam has started back up where previously it wouldn't launch again until it was reinstalled.

Can you please run the following scanners and post back the logs and we'll see if we can see what's going on for you.

Please download Farbar Recovery Scan Tool and save it to your desktop.

Note: You need to run the version compatible with your system.
You can check here if you're not sure if your computer is 32-bit or 64-bit

  • Double-click to run it. When the tool opens click Yes to disclaimer.
  • Press Scan button.
  • It will make a log (FRST.txt) in the same directory the tool is run. Please copy and paste it to your reply.
  • The first time the tool is run, it also makes another log (Addition.txt). Please copy and paste it to your reply as well.

Then run this one too

Please create an mbam-check log:

  • Download mbam-check.exe from here and save it to your desktop
  • Double-click on mbam-check.exe to run it, it should then open a log file
  • Please do not copy and paste the entire contents of the log into your next post, instead please attach the log CheckResults.txt file which should now be located on your desktop to your next post

Thanks

Hi:

Any progress on this badboy?

Sorry for the delay.

It appears that your post with the logs may have been inadvertently overlooked.

I have notified the forum Admin.

Sorry for the delay.

The computer is actually showing signs of being infected.

I would suggest following the advice from the topic here Available Assistance for Possibly Infected Computers and having one of the Experts assist you with looking into your issue.

Simply either link back to this topic or attach the same logs to your new post in the malware removal forum.

Thanks
