Hi,

First of all I'd like to thank the people at Malwarebytes for investing their own time in helping others for free.

I have recently been having a problem with my internet. I would get 800-1k ping spikes (like these) when I play online games which makes an otherwise good server practically unplayable. I've taken every measure to make sure that this is not a problem with my router or the ISP. I've switched from using the Ethernet LAN port to WIFI and the problem still persists. The internet is fine on every other device in the house so I've come to conclude that there is definitely something in my computer causing the spikes.

I did a full Malwarebytes scan and deleted all the files in the list that it thought had some risk but this did not help. So I've attached my dds.txt and attach.txt files and would appreciate if you could have a look to see if anything is suspicious. Note: this scan was done with the internet connection unplugged as requested in the "I'm infected - What do I do now?" thread.

Thanks again,

Winkys

Hello and post-32477-1261866970.gif

P2P/Piracy Warning:

If you're using Peer 2 Peer software such as uTorrent, BitTorrent or similar you must either fully uninstall them or completely disable them from running while being assisted here.

Failure to remove or disable such software will result in your topic being closed and no further assistance being provided.

If you have illegal/cracked software, cracks, keygens etc. on the system, please remove or uninstall them now and read the policy on Piracy.

I see there is a proxy server running, do you know of or trust that proxy? (uProxyServer = 124.81.127.84:8080)

Next,

Run Malwarebytes,  Open > Settings Tab > Scanner Settings > Under action for PUP > Select: Show in Results List and Check for removal.

Please Update and run a Quick scan

Make sure that everything is checked, and click Remove Selected on any found items.

Post the produced log

Next,

Download Farbar Recovery Scan Tool and save it to your desktop.

Note: You need to run the version compatible with your system (32 bit or 64 bit). If you are not sure which version applies to your system download both of them and try to run them. Only one of them will run on your system, that will be the right version.

Double-click to run it. When the tool opens click Yes to disclaimer.
Press Scan button.
It will make a log (FRST.txt) in the same directory the tool is run. Please copy and paste it to your reply.
The first time the tool is run, it makes also another log (Addition.txt). Please attach it to your reply.

Next,

Download Farbar Service Scanner from here: http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/download/farbar-service-scanner/dl/62/ and run it on the computer with the issue.

Make sure the following options are checked:

Internet Services
Windows Firewall
System Restore
Security Center/Action Center
Windows Update
Windows Defender

Press "Scan".
It will create a log (FSS.txt) in the same directory the tool is run.
Please copy and paste the log to your reply.

Let me see those logs in next reply..

Kevin

Hi Kevin,

Your response was much appreciated. The proxy that was being used is not intended to be - it was disabled in Internet Explorer so I am not sure how it is running. I have cleared the IP address and port fields to make sure.

Please find attached the rest of the logs you requested.

Thanks,

Winkys

P.s. Since some of these logs show the names of personal files on my computer, is it possible to make this thread only viewable by administrators?

Hi Kevin,

That is unfortunate. I have purchased this computer second hand from Gumtree with a lot of the software already preinstalled. I do have a copy of Windows 8 (genuine) and was wondering if the internet issue could be fixed and save me having to format and install Windows 8 from scratch. It looks like this has to be the case as you have denied me support.

Thanks for your time,

Winkys
