I'm able to get through the restarting process but soon after typing in my password for windows, I'm given a blank screen and am only able to move my mouse. The only way I'm able to actually get to my desktop again is to restart in safe mode and uninstall MB from there.

I've also discovered that running a scan also causes my computer to lock up. I've had MB installed on this machine previously, and had no problems whatsoever. Does anyone know a way to fix this?

Which version of MBAM did you install?

May be incompatibility with some other software on your computer or possibly a corrupted version of MBAM.

What other software are you running?

Where did you download MBAM from?

Someone will get back to you, hang tight, they are really good at helping people on this forum.

Hello and :welcome:

Let's get some logs and see what's going on.  I'm sure we can get you fixed up.

Please run the following scanner and send back the logs.

Download DDS from one of the locations below and save to your Desktop
dds.scr
dds.com

Temporarily disable any script blocker if your Anti-Virus/Anti-Malware has it.
How To Temporarily Disable Your Anti-virus, Firewall And Anti-malware Programs

Once downloaded you can disconnect from the Internet and disable your Ant-Virus temporarily if needed.
Then double click dds.scr or dds.com to run the tool.
Click the Run button if prompted with an Open File - Security Warning dialog box.
A black DOS console should open and run for a moment.

  • When done, DDS will open two (2) logs:
    • DDS.txt
    • Attach.txt
  • Save both reports to your desktop
  • Please include the following logs in your next reply as an attachment: DDS.txt and Attach.txt
  • You can ignore the note about zipping the Attach.txt file and just post it or attach it.

Then let me have your run this as well

Please create an mbam-check log:

  • Download mbam-check.exe from here and save it to your desktop
  • Double-click on mbam-check.exe to run it, it should then open a log file
  • Please do not copy and paste the entire contents of the log into your next post, instead please attach the log CheckResults.txt file which should now be located on your desktop to your next post

Thanks

Jazz Jackrabbit 2 - Wow... haven't seen that game in years.  That was a fun game many, many years ago.

So anyways... the logs indicate that the computer is either currently infected or is suffering damage from an infection.

I would suggest following the advice from the topic here Available Assistance for Possibly Infected Computers and having one of the Experts assist you with looking into your issue.
