fivealive Posted March 4, 2014 ID:798995 Share Posted March 4, 2014 Since installing your app onto my galaxy s4 with android 4.3 I noticed with the phone in standby it dies in 12 hours well the app is installed. if I remove the app, I go back to a week of battery power well in standby, and minimal useage. Posted March 12, 2014 ID:802234 Share Posted March 12, 2014 I've been thinking about putting the MBAM app on my Nexus 7 tablet running Android 4.4.2, but I thought I'd check here first, since I'm concerned about its effect on my tablet's battery. The first poster seems to imply that the MBAM app drains the battery even when his phone is in standby mode. My tablet can access the Internet only via wi-fi. Leave it in Standby for 12 hours as you indicated. Then show a screenshot of the power usage menu. Perform the same experiment with MBAM Mobile uninstalled. Leave it in Standby for a week as you indicated. Then show a screenshot of the power usage menu. This data will be very useful to us. Thank you! Battery life for MBAM mobile is about normal at 2% an hour. It may depend on whether you have other security apps running at the same time, scanning etc. You may want to check other settings on your device. If you open the app and go to the Settings, select Notifications. You have the option to turn the Notification icon which can make some impact on the battery life. Also, the Notifications such as the scan result, scan progress and database updates, scheduled scans can be turned off. This will make some difference as well. If only using the application through a Wi-Fi connection, you may disable the settings for the time that you are not using the app, although the Realtime protection should always remain enabled. Of course, I have 6 Google accounts logged in, plus my phone is 2.5 years old..... Glad the reinstall seems to have fixed your issues. though.
