Every once in a while I get the "Malicious Website Blocked" balloon tip, and it baffles me because I have no browsers running or anything like that, which makes me suspect my Windows installation itself has some kind of infection or security-compromising macro running...

I wonder if there's a way I can find out which program or process was blocked, when this balloon message comes up.

Scans never seem to find anything, well once in a great while I find an adware, on this machine.

Thanks in advance!

Greetings and welcome :)

Yes, it does if you are running Windows Vista, Windows 7, Windows 8 or Windows 8.1. It does not log the process if you are using Windows XP due to the lack of an API in Windows XP to allow us to query the process.

You may find the information about previous blocks within your protection logs which are listed in the Logs tab.

Hmm I suppose I'd better consider a larger battery of tests/scans or just skipping ahead to full-wipeout.

Hey that's pretty cool!  I may have to try that.

Alright, after a quick glance, that brings two little questions to mind:

1. Do I qualify as a paying customer that's entitled to (or eligible for or whatever) the non-free support email just for having the paid version of AntiMalware, instead of being a free user, or is that a separate subscription for the support?

2. Am I correct in my past assumption(s) that AntiMalware is purchased with a one-time price, as opposed to having to buy it again every year?  I ask because that's why I bought my AntiMalware licenses: other comparable products seem to be a yearly-rental kind of deal instead of a buy-once deal (and one of the PC's here has lately started saying it's the free version again, strangely.)

Thanks

1. If you have the PRO version then you are a paying customer....

2. As of this time, you are correct, if you own or buy at this time, a copy of Malwarebytes PRO, it will be a lifetime license and will not required to pay yearly. This will include program updates. This license is only good for one computer but it can be transferred onto a new computer. That being said, this is going to change soon when they release the new version 2.0x. If you currently have a lifetime license you will be able to upgrade to the new 2.0 version and will continue to have a lifetime license. If you however wait and by the new 2.0 when it comes out, that license will be different, it will be good for 3 computers, but it will be a yearly subscription. That being said, now is the time to buy and stock up on the lifetime licenses.

Hope that answers your questions.

Yes that does, thank you.  That's interesting.  I have 4 licenses right now, that's probably enough -- but that whole grandfathered-in good-forever thing is tempting me to consider getting more anyway, haha.

Oh I hope I can recover the key# from the PC that seems to have lost it's pro license, though... didn't write that one down!
