I am a mature computer user with very limited technical skills. I am worried that my computer has been infected recently because I keep getting pop-up adverts and a message that there is a long-running script. Following advice from other sites I have managed to set pop-up blockers and have tried to change the default web browser to Internet Explorer but the existing one refuses to be deleted. It is http//uk.yahoo/?fr=fp-yie10. Is this the source of the problem or could be only one of several? I have run a full Norton scan but it has made no difference. I am frightened to download malware removal programs in case I am only adding to my problem,

I desperately need someone to help me because I am now very nervous about using my computer. I don't have a printer at home but if someone was able to help and part of the process required instructions to be printed I could go to my local library, save any necessary instructions to a memory stick and then use a library printer.

Grateful for any and all advice/help given in response.
