User Account Control window opens every time I open MbAM - is it still running in the background?

I recently purchased the pro version of MbAM, at first it seemed to have installed without any problems, but what I don't understand is that in order to open it to make changes to settings, I have to choose Yes or No when a User Account Control window opens. Is this normal?

 

Once I've made changes and closed it, will it be running in the background?

Yes, that is normal.

 

Assuming that you installed it from a Windows user account with Admin rights, MBAM and its the scheduled tasks (updates, scans, etc) can be configured to run silently from the system account.

But when you open the GUI manually from the desktop shortcut, you will get a UAC prompt.

Just click "OK".
