MBAM Pro New 'Password Required' Update

Hello,

 

I have Windows 7 with Malwarebytes Pro.  After a recent update MBAM now requires a password to access the 'Protection' 'Ignore List' and 'Settings' tabs of its program manager.  However, I can still enable and disable (check and uncheck) Filesystem Protection, Website Blocking, Start with Windows and Add to Ignore List, (as well as Check for Update and Start Scanner) by clicking the icon in the task manager.

 

I have no idea of what password MBAM is referring nor is there any means provided for one to be created.  I searched for the confirmation email I received when I purchased MBAM thinking perhaps I was asked to create a password back then but I unable to find it.  Hopefully someone can explain why the new feature and how I can create a password.

Unfortunately there is no way to remove the password without reinstalling the software.  Please follow the directions below and that should correct the issue for you.

Thank you for the gracious welcome and your reply to my question.  I followed your thorough but simple instructions and reinstalled Malwarebytes but this time I added a password.
