My Malwarebytes won't stop scanning

Recommended Posts

I saw a post that is similar to mine in that the virus came disguised as an update from Firefox.  I clicked to install it and it put all sorts of programs on my laptop. I was able to uninstall them from Control Panel but my Malwarebytes won't stop running. It has run more than 8 hours and scanned over a million objects with no end in sight. It found 86 infections in the first hour and has found none since.  Can I pause the scan, quarantine and remove what has been found and restart the scan?

Can anyone help?

I am using my Mac to post this

Let Malwarebytes finish, when it completes post back with logs from the following:

Download Farbar Recovery Scan Tool and save it to your desktop.

Note: You need to run the version compatible with your system (32 bit or 64 bit). If you are not sure which version applies to your system download both of them and try to run them. Only one of them will run on your system, that will be the right version.

  •

  • Double-click to run it. When the tool opens click Yes to disclaimer.

  • Press Scan button.

  • It will make a log (FRST.txt) in the same directory the tool is run. Please copy and paste it to your reply.

  • The first time the tool is run, it makes also another log (Addition.txt). Please attach it to your reply.
