I have been struggling with intermitent crashes for months.  In Dec 2013, my S.M.A.R.T. scan said my hard disk was failing.  I replaced it with new Western Digital 1TB drive.  I goofed up by copying the hard drive from the failing one to the new one.  Reinstalled WIN 7 (multiple times) and re-installed MS Outlook (multiple times) along with other software.   Still having same problems with crashes and not avle to do MS updates or restore.

I've run Malwarebytes Anti-malware tool.  At first had dificulty, not able to run it - solved that by downloading it to a usb drive and installed it from there.  Found forum topic with othter suggested steps and followed them up to this point and need further direction.  TDSS Killer found no problems. Ran  RogueKiller and seeing External Hives and other stuff that I don't know what that means.

Further explaination - I already follwed these:

Step 1 ran (ERUNT (Emergency Recovery Utility NT)

Step 2 To show all files types

Step 3 Disable your AntiVirus and AntiSpyware applications and run adwcleaner.exe As Administrator posting it here below.

Step 4 Run TDSSKiller.exe  - Result nothing found.

I relly need help.  I still can't run Anti-malware bytes. 

Each time I launch it (as Administrator) it says "The Malwarebytes Anti-Malware database is missing or corrupt.  Would you like to download a new copy?" 

I choose yes.

A new window pops up called "Updating Malwarebytes Anti-Malware"  Inside this pop-up says "Downloading  v2014.02.14.05" and a graphic shows the progress going all the way to 7,051.44KB [100%].

 

That's it.  nothing more. The pop up just sits there.  

I have tried waiting and nothing happens.  I have and tried clicking but then the pop-up changes to "Not Responding"  If I close th pop up, nothing has changed when I launch Anti-Malware it goes into the same routine about the database is missing or corrupt. 

 

Can anyone help?
