Hello All,

I recently reformatted my computer and upon reinstalling the professional version of MalwareBytes I noticed that it would regularly block incoming connections from a specific IP address (93.174.93.67 Port: 21320).  This occurs about 5 or 6 times a day and its consistently the same IP Address and Port Number. I'm currently using McAfee and MBAM and upon doing full scans from both, my computer comes up clean. Based on my online research, this is an IP that comes from the Netherlands. I've seen some posts that say this is just MBAM being over cautious. However, I haven't seen an explanation or a solution which is ultimately what I'm after  :)

Any assistance with this from the community would be most appreciated.

Thanks and best regards,

DH

Hi Durew,

Thanks for the response. I've sent an inquiry to customer support. While I didn't have my order number available I did provide them with my serial number in hopes that they can check my records to see that I'm a paying customer.

However, is there a place here within these forums where I can go to get assistance? ( As a side note, I don't believe BusamaEnt implied that he couldn't access the internet with MBAM turned on. He was just testing to see if he could access it with MBAM disabled )

Thanks,

DH

Hi, dh333:

Until AdvancedSetup and Durew return....

It looks as if you've opened a new post over in the malware removal section >>HERE<<  (and what looks like an accidental duplicate >>HERE<<) ?

And you also opened a help desk ticket, too?

It will be confusing and inefficient to work both at the help desk and in the malware removal forum.

As a paying customer you are entitled to either, for free. :)

But I would suggest that you please choose one or the other.

If you prefer the help desk, please provide your helper there with the links to your forum threads, so that they can be closed:

https://forums.malwarebytes.org/index.php?showtopic=142092https://forums.malwarebytes.org/index.php?showtopic=142093https://forums.malwarebytes.org/index.php?showtopic=142065

If you prefer the malware removal forum, please notify the support team member who replies to your help desk ticket.

Thanks very much!

Hi dh333,

Since malwarebytes is consistently blocking one IP-adres we currently assume that your computer may be infected. That means that the first priority is to make sure your computer is not infected (anymore). As described in "Available Assistance for Possibly Infected Computers" you can get help with malware-removal at the malware-removal subforum. But you already found that sub-forum I believe. Once a one of the "expert" (a title granted to those who succesfully complete a course about removing malware at UNITE) or higher has replied to your topic the expert will use powerful tools, more powerful than we are allowed to use here, to make sure your computer is malware free and he/she is also most capable of tracking down what is trying to acces the IP-adres blocked by MBAM.

So to answer the question:

is there a place here within these forums where I can go to get assistance?

Yes, and you found it already.

Until the one helping you at the malware-removal forum has given you the all clear we, the forum volunteers, are not allowed to provide any help in this matter. This can interfere with whatever is going on at malware-removal. For this reason, if customer support is going to help you, make sure that they are aware that you also started a topic at malware-removal. As daledoc1 already wrote, getting help via both the forum and the help-desk may lead to confusion, so pick one and let the other know of your decision.

Just for the record, if you bought malwarebytes anti-malware via cleverbridge you can request all you order information here. Fill in your e-mail adress and they'll send the information over the maill.

Now you mention it, it looks like I was mistaken about the severity of the problem. Since this doesn't influence the advise (he should still read the same topic and act accordingly), let's hope I was mistaken.

@Caledonius:

Welcome.

Same problem, same answer. :)

Please read this topic: Available Assistance for Possibly Infected Computers

Choose between forum support and support from the helpdesk and follow the instructions.

If you choose for forumsupport, remember to always start you own topic and not to post in someone else's topic. Every computer is different and the support at the malware-removal forum is one-on-one.

To all, I hope this helps, and if you have any questions please post & ask.
