Amazing! It's gone from the remove programs list. Now maybe random adware will stop appearing. THANK YOU.

Now though, once during the original thread and once just now in this thread (Fixing my problem thanks again)  you said to edit the system registry, I believe the following problem might have spawned from that? The following error message has been appearing on every reboot since I think the first registry edit called fixme.reg from the original thread. Or maybe from the fixit.reg just now (but I think not).

Any Idea what this means?

You should follow a fix for someone else.....start with this:

Lets clean out any adware/spyware now: (this will require a reboot so save all your work)

Please download AdwCleaner from HERE or HERE to your desktop.

  • Double click on AdwCleaner.exe to run the tool.

Vista/Windows 7/8 users right-click and select Run As Administrator

  • Click on the Scan button.
  • AdwCleaner will begin...be patient as the scan may take some time to complete.
  • When it's done you'll see: Pending: Please uncheck elements you don't want removed.
  • Now click on the Report button...a logfile (AdwCleaner[R0].txt) will open in Notepad for review.
  • Look over the log especially under Files/Folders for any program you want to save.
  • If there's a program you may want to save, just uncheck it from AdwCleaner.
  • If you're not sure, post the log for review. (all items found are adware/spyware/foistware)
  • If you're ready to clean it all up.....click the Clean button.
  • After rebooting, a logfile report (AdwCleaner[s0].txt) will open automatically.
  • Copy and paste the contents of that logfile in your next reply.
  • A copy of that logfile will also be saved in the C:\AdwCleaner folder.
  • Items that are deleted are moved to the Quarantine Folder: C:\AdwCleaner\Quarantine
  • To restore an item that has been deleted:
  • Go to Tools > Quarantine Manager > check what you want restored > now click on Restore.
Then..................

Open up Malwarebytes > Settings Tab > Scanner Settings > Under action for PUP > Select: Show in Results List and Check for removal.

Please Update and run a FULL Scan with Malwarebytes Anti-Malware, post the report.

Make sure that everything is checked, and click Remove Selected.

Please let me know how computer is running now, MrC

Log appears to be completely clean to me, not sure though. I will now follow second half of instructions and run a full malwarebytes scan and post report after changing pup settings, this could take hours If I remember right from the last time I did a full scan, I usually just run periodic quick scans.

Sidenote; upon adwarecleaner restart the above screenshotted error persisted

OK.....do this after MB:

Please download Farbar Recovery Scan Tool (FRST) and save it to a folder.

(use correct version for your system.....Which system am I using?)

FRST <----for 32 bit systems

FRST64 <----for 64 bit systems

  • Double-click to run it. When the tool opens click Yes to disclaimer.
  • Press Scan button.
  • It will make a log (FRST.txt) in the same directory the tool is run. Please copy and paste it to your reply.
  • The first time the tool is run, it makes also another log (Addition.txt). Please attach it to your reply.
If the logs are large, you can attach them:

Fixlist.txt solved the startup error posted above however if you look at the screenshot of my cpu-meter in the top right of my screen It now has some kind of error on it and the computer is making some kind of new noise, the kind I heard on old computers when they were thinking really hard and it runs a little choppy (notice the graph, it used to jump to bout 70% on startup then immediately drop to 3% and Idle there until I started opening programs) all the sudden. Attatched is requested fixlog.

Thank you

I suppose the cpu isn't running too high, just choppier on startup than used to be. I'm mainly worried about the error message on the cpu meter though, It definitely started right after following these instructions:

"

Download the attached fixlist.txt to the same folder as FRST.
Run FRST.exe and click Fix only once and wait
The tool will create a log (Fixlog.txt) in the folder, please post it to your reply.

Then......reboot and let me know how it is.
