Recently whenever I open Internet Explorer 11 my homepage [www.yahoo.com] does not open and I get a message that says "Navigation to the webpage was cancelled."

When I attempt to go to an alternative site I either get the same message or a message saying "redirecting" shows up but I am not actually "redirected to any other website at all.

Attached you will find an image of how IE 11 looks when first opening it and another image of how IE 11 looks when I attempt to go to another website i.e. Facebook.

Is there a way I can repair this issue?

My Chrome Windows 7 browser seems to be working fine.

I have Mawarebytes Pro and Windows Essentials running and they show no sign of malware.

Thank you for your assistance.

Hi:

What is "Windows Essentials" -- do you mean Microsoft Security Essentials (MSE)?

Please follow the steps below and post back with both logs attached to your next reply.
They will provide the experts/staff with a bit of basic system info to start the troubleshooting process.

Thanks,

DDS Instructions

Download DDS from one of the locations below and save it to your Desktop:
dds.scr
dds.com

Temporarily disable any script blocker if your Anti-Virus/Anti-Malware has it.
How To Temporarily Disable Your Anti-virus, Firewall And Anti-malware Programs

Once it is downloaded, you can disconnect from the Internet and disable your Ant-Virus temporarily if needed.
Then double click dds.scr or dds.com to run the tool.
Click the Run button if prompted with an Open File - Security Warning dialog box.
A black DOS console should open and run for a moment.

  •
  • When done, DDS will open two (2) logs:
    • DDS.txt
    • Attach.txt
  • Save both reports to your desktop
  • Please attach both of the following logs to your next reply: DDS.txt and Attach.txt
You can ignore the note about zipping the Attach.txt file in most cases.

I am somewhat confused.

Are the postings about the "Syrian Electronic Army" specifically related to the issue I am having?

If so, how so and what am I to do?

My Facebook, Google, Twitter and Yahoo accounts as well as my Chrome Browser appear to be fine and it is only the issue as stated in my original comment that appears [at least on the surface] to be a bit of a pesky problem.
