Malwarebytes is not updating. This is the error message I'm receiving.

PROGRAM_ERROR_UPDATING (0,0 DNS error)

Chrome, and Firefox will get an error message saying it can't connect to the internet. Windows update works fine.

I've scanned and deleted infected files with Malwarebytes and uninstalled all programs that infected file tried to install. 

OS: win 7  home premium (64 bit)

Welcome to the forum.

Please download and run RogueKiller 32 Bit to your desktop.

RogueKiller 64 Bit <---use this one for 64 bit systems

Which system am I using?

Quit all running programs.

For Windows XP, double-click to start.
For Vista or Windows 7-8, do a right-click on the program, select Run as Administrator to start, & when prompted Allow to run.

Click Scan to scan the system.
When the scan completes > Close out the program > Don't Fix anything!

Don't run any other options, they're not all bad!!!!!!!

Post back the report which should be located on your desktop.
(please don't put logs in code or quotes and use the default font)

Please download and run RogueKiller 32 Bit to your desktop.

RogueKiller 64 Bit <---use this one for 64 bit systems

Which system am I using?

Quit all running programs.

For Windows XP, double-click to start.
For Vista or Windows 7-8, do a right-click on the program, select Run as Administrator to start, & when prompted Allow to run.

Click Scan to scan the system.
When the scan completes > Close out the program > Don't Fix anything!

Don't run any other options, they're not all bad!!!!!!!

Post back the report which should be located on your desktop.
(please don't put logs in code or quotes and use the default font)

Can you explain all these entries in your host file: (the last time I looked they were for by-passing activation of Adobe products (which you have installed), which is also know as Piracy.

Can you explain all these entries in your host file: (the last time I looked they were for by-passing activation of Adobe products (which you have installed), which is also know as Piracy.

 

I do not know what that means. It is an old computer I purchased used.  I use it solely for going online, emailing etc. Is this the source of my problem?
