When I start the installation cd none of the buttons on the page work in order to start the installation process.

I even copied the files to my desktop but to no avail.

I just tried out the new Beta version of malwarebytes 2 and after uninstalling it, it wiped out my previous installation.

I had to rely on the original downloaded version to get it working again.

I paid the $9.00 for the cd but want a refund if it won't work.

Thanks

Hello and :welcome: , justrip:

Sorry you are having a problem with the MBAM CD.

Please check this recent forum post to see if it applies to your situation: malwarebytes cd wont work

Having said that, the CD isn't really needed in normal cases.

Its main use would be for an infected computer without internet access.

Even then, there are other ways to get MBAM installed on an infected system.

Plus, the program version on the CD will often be outdated.

It's better to install from a current download of the program (see below).

But it's OK to have the CD, just in case....

All you need is your license ID & key.

If you purchased online, that info will be in an email from Cleverbridge, the reseller.

If you purchased a boxed CD separately from a different source, the ID/key will be inside the box (CD sleeve or card).

Just download the program from here: Where can I download the latest version of Malwarebytes Anti-Malware?

Then use your ID/key to activate it: How do I activate Malwarebytes Anti-Malware? and How to Activate the PRO Version

Please let us know if this resolves your issue,

ADDENDUM

A consumer license ID & key for version 1.xx will NOT work with the current BETA version of 2.00.

So, if you want to stay with the stable, release version (1.75) you would use your purchased 1.x ID/key to activate it.
If you want to test the consumer 2.00 BETA, then you need to first uninstall 1.75, reboot, install the 2.00 BETA and activate it with the special, TEMPORARY key.

This is all explained in these 2 pinned topics:
Please refer to the download and beta-testing instructions here: Malwarebytes Anti-Malware 2.00 Beta Test -- DOWNLOAD
Also, please refer to this pinned topic about known issues: Malwarebytes Anti-Malware 2.00 Beta Test -- KNOWN ISSUES

ALSO: Once 2.00 is released in final version, consumer lifetime licenses for 1.x will be converted to lifetime licenses for 2.00. That conversion is not yet supported while 2.00 is in BETA.

Cheers,

Hi:

>> First: did you get MBAM PRO installed and activated OK, or do you still need help with that?

Thanks for your responses but not to sound ungrateful but why did I pay $9.00 for a CD that I will never need,

>>Second: The MBAM "To the Rescue" backup CD does contain some additional tools, as well as MBAM (see screenshot).

However, purchase of such a CD is optional, as a separate, "also recommends" product.

It is listed on the online store page separately from MBAM PRO, and it is not necessary for MBAM PRO to install or run under normal circumstances.

The standard product delivery method is via download:

It's up to the customer whether or not to purchase this additional item -- some folks like to have their software available as a "backup" on media.

Having said all that, the CD and its tools might come in handy some day, under certain circumstances with a badly infected computer.

I am just a home user, too, and a forum volunteer.

I do not work for MBAM or have any financial interest in the products.

So, we might need to wait for a staff person to provide additional explanations for you.

Thanks,

Great! :)

Thanks for the update.

Glad you got it working properly.

(BTW the display scaling issue is known and the devs should have it fixed for 2.00 release version.)

You are most welcome.

I'm glad I could help.

Feel free to post back if you ever need additional help.

Cheers,
