What am I doing wrong?

Recommended Posts

I went through the long process of removing objects with the great help from one of the guys a month ago. So I run a quick scan and MB finds 83 objects, the same stuff as from a month ago. I have the paid version so I'm expecting real time protection.  Am I doing something wrong?  Thanks

Hi:

Welcome back.

Sorry to hear you think you might be infected again.
Alas, we can't say for sure over here in this particular sub-section of the forum.
So, I would suggest that you please follow the recommendations in this pinned topic: Available Assistance For Possibly Infected Computers.
A malware analyst will guide you through the cleanup process.

As far as how you have been reinfected so soon, no software application, not even MBAM PRO in combination with a robust anti-virus, can possibly protect 100% of users 100% of the time from 100% of today's ever changing malware.
An important key to computer safety is practicing "safe hex" (thanks to @David H. Lipman).
Here are a just a couple of references about it:

There are tools and methods but if you lock the system down hard then it becomes very difficult and annoying to even use the computer.  So it's sort of like a car - it can run fine for a long time but at some point if you don't do maintenance then you're going to have trouble.
