Hello, I know you were asking for exile... but he seems to be real busy at times so I thought I might jump in and suggest a few things....

Are you using some sort of HP printer?

My recommendation after seeing other thread resolutions is to uninstall (reboot) and reinstall the HP software associated with the HP printer, after an uninstall and restart you should not see the pop-up again.

I hope this was helpful, please let me know if you require more assistance.

It's up to you but as Firefox has stated, Exile360 is rarely posting on the forum these days as his position in the company has changed and he no longer does support work.   He works as a Product Manager now so unless he finds free time to do so he probably will not be posting.

I'm sure that Firefox or others can assist you with this if you let them.

What product are you installing?

What Operating System are you running?

Where did you download the installer from?

When this error comes up does it happen every reboot or only while you're trying to install a driver for this?

Have you searched your hard drive for that file?   GPbaseservice2.msi

Thank you for your reply.

I have asked exile360 to help me because he was the only one who could help me with a similar problem before when no-one else could and Googled so called resolutions did not work. I was reminded of his help when I saw his recent posts on here.

In reply to your questions;

1. I am not installing a product

2. I am running XPSP3

3. I have not downloaded the installer

4. This error does not happen at reboot and I am not trying to install a driver for this or anything.

5. GPbaseservice2 did not show up on a search of my hard drive.

I have now found the previous thread and I feel it would be a great help to me to have this continuing issue on the same thread as all of the information is on there including some of yours.

Please close this thread.

The previous thread is https://forums.malwarebytes.org/index.php?showtopic=23054&hl= and I am now posting this issue on there.
